    PRAGUE CASTLE

    The residence of Czech monarchs and presidents since the ninth century, Prague Castle combines churches, houses and courtyards, containing tombs of famous Czech kings, as well as the crown jewels.

    Charles Bridge

    Crossing the Vltava River, Prague’s oldest bridge was built in 1357 by King Charles IV. Between the towers at each end are 30 saint statues. This lively pedestrian bridge is just steps from the Hotel.

    Old Town Square

    An abbey founded in 1140 by Prince Vladislav II, the Strahov Monastery features libraries that are over 800 years old. Discover one of Europe’s most beautiful book rooms, featuring many illuminated manuscripts.

    This baroque church is famous for its statuette of the Infant Jesus of Prague, whose wardrobe includes two crowns and about 46 robes. His vestments are changed about ten times a year.

    These beautiful baroque buildings were originally part of a Jesuit College, and later housed the Jesuit book collection. Now it is the National Library of the Czech Republic, with more than six million books.

    The 1920s villa for Milada and Frantisek Muller is the chef-d’oeuvre of avant-garde architect Adolf Loos. The interiors offer a harmony between modern Functionalism and classic English style.
