Small game Fishing
The coral reef of Mauritius surrounds 90% of the island’s coastline, creating warm, lagoon waters that are the perfect breeding ground for fish such as the Coral Grouper, the Giant Trevally and the local Capitaine fish. Small Game Fishing can be enjoyed at any time of the year in Mauritius and our Concierge are readily available to assist with any excursion requests.

Undersea Walk

Deep Sea Fishing
The best season for deep sea fishing (also known as big game fishing) is from October to May, when the warmer summer waters offer a catch of Yellow Fin Tuna, Blue Marlin, Wahoo and Dorado. Both half and full day excursions for deep sea fishing can be arranged through the Resort’s Concierge.

Surfing
Experienced surfers can take up the challenge of catching a wave at Le Morne in the south west of Mauritius, where a break in the coral reef offers moderate to large waves for an adrenaline-filled surfing session.

Kitesurfing
With a pleasant all year round breeze, Mauritius is a perfect location for kitesurfing. The winter months of June to August offer stronger winds for those looking for more of a challenge, with many places around the coast providing a great location for this activity.r

Para-sailing
Take off above the ocean on a para-sailing excursion and enjoy sweeping views of turquoise waters and the rolling, green-blanketed mountains of Mauritius. Para-sailing is available on the nearby island of Ile aux Cerfs, which can be reached by the complimentary boat shuttle direct from the Resort’s Bambou Beach.

Horseback Riding
Gallop along the beach or meander up into the mountains, horseback riding is available at several locations in Mauritius, with guides to lead new riders and share details on the island surroundings.
Zip Lining
Soar above tree tops on a zip lining adventure. Fitted with your helmet and harness and with the guidance of trained instructors, you can fly through the air on zip lines measuring anywhere up to 400 metres at Casela Nature and Leisure Park, or alternatively, choose to feel the freedom of flight at Saint Felix in the south of the island.

Bird Watching
Did you know that Mauritius is home to over 100 species of birds? From the protected Pink Pigeon and Mauritian Kestrel to the more common Madagascar Fody and the Red-whiskered Bulbul, beautiful birds can be seen all over the island. Visits to Ile aux Aigrettes and Pamplemousses Botanical Gardens are also recommended for keen bird watchers.

Helicopter Tours
There is no better vantage point of Mauritius’ spectacular terrain and stunning coastline than by a private helicopter tour. The Resort features its own helipad just a five minute transfer from the front drive.
Skydiving
Extreme thrill seekers can satisfy their adrenaline craving with a skydive above the coral fringed coastline and stunning mountains of Mauritius. Freefall towards the Indian Ocean island before a softer approach by parachute brings you back down to earth.
