Things to do during summer in LA
  • Barnsdall Art Park

Barnsdall Art Park sits on 11 airy acres in the Los Feliz/Hollywood Area. The site is home to a number of cultural attractions, including Frank Lloyd Wright’s renowned and just reopened to the public Hollyhock House. Plan your visit to this dynamic destination where you can enjoy self-guided tours throughout the grounds, art workshops, and Friday Night Wine Tastings and sunset picnics on the West Lawn overlooking the City of Angels.

  • Dodgers Stadium

With more than five decades of history, which have included eight World Series games, Dodger Stadium has earned itself a place among the most monumental stadiums in Major League Baseball history. Catch a game (and perhaps even a foul ball) through October, sample a Dodger Dog and enjoy a fireworks show every Friday night. GO BLUE!

  • The Hollywood Forever Cemetery

Enjoy outdoor movie screenings at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery through the end of July. Presented by Cinespia, this summer series will include favourite films such as Wizard of Oz, Top Gun and Willy Wonka & The Chocolate Factory. Arrive early and enjoy a BYO picnic on the lawn, or stroll the grounds which are the final resting places for some of the biggest names in the classic era of Hollywood.

  • Chinatown

An annual outdoor street food/arts/music festival, Chinatown Summer Nights offers locals and visitors alike the chance to step inside one of LA’s hidden urban treasures. Located in Chinatown’s Central and West Plazas, participants can enjoy a number of cultural activities, including brush painting, calligraphy, family-friendly workshops and cooking demonstrations by Chinese chefs. Listen to live music, meet a magic-trick performing Capuchin monkey, and sample diverse culinary offerings from LA and Chinatown’s gourmet food trucks.

  • Malibu Pier

Located in the heart of California’s surf culture, Malibu Pier perfectly encapsulates the beach town vibes of the local community. Dine seaside at the Malibu Pier Restaurant and Bar, which features freshly caught seafood and local and sustainable flavours. Schedule a boat tour along Malibu's more than 29 miles of glamorous coastline. Or, simply stroll along the pier while taking in the striking views of the Pacific coast.

  • Will Rogers State Park

The former estate of Hollywood actor Will Rogers, this historic state park covers more than 187 acres of land spanning throughout the Santa Monica Mountains and Pacific Palisades area. Here, you can take part in a number of activities including hiking, horseback riding and guided tours of Will Rogers’s home. Beginning in May through October, attend one of the many polo tournaments to take place at the estate, including the highly anticipated Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic.

  • Zuma Beach

Plan a day of sand, surf and fun at LA’s largest beach located just off the Pacific Coast Highway. Relax on the sprawling sandy shore, swim in the comfort of mild waves, and pack a picnic to take with you, or walk to the one of the restaurants at Trancas Market Shopping Center or the renowned Neptune’s Net Seafood Restaurant.
