The crop flourished, and at one time the island supported nearly 20,000 acres of cultivated pineapple, making it the world’s largest plantation and earning Lanai the name the “Pineapple Island.” Join visitors and residents of the Pineapple Island on July 1 from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm in Dole Park for a day of celebration and fun. Stay later for a fabulous fireworks display at 9:00 pm! For those traveling from Maui, there will be a special 9:30 pm Expeditions Ferry back to Lahaina from Manele Harbour.
