Reforestation Initiative
Four Seasons Resort Hualalai has partnered with the Hawaiian Legacy Reforestation Initiative (HLRI) to plant 500,000 native Koa trees on Hawaii Island. An optional USD 8 per day “Island Conservation Contribution” will be applied to all room accounts. All collected contributions will be donated directly to HLRI as a non-profit. We appreciate your commitment to maintaining the beauty of the island.
By contributing to this initiative, you are joining Four Seasons as we continue to lead the world in innovative sustainable travel. We are now the first resort in the world to offer trackable and verifiable endemic tree planting as a way to offset resource and energy use during your stay in the islands. Over a 50-year lifetime, a single legacy tree will generate 13,000 pounds of oxygen, sequester 8,200 pounds of carbon dioxide and recycle 200,000 gallons of water. That means your stay at Four Seasons is leaving a lasting legacy. If you prefer to opt out of the program, the Front Desk staff can assist you at check in or check out with no obligation.
