All scheduled tours and excursions in Costa Rica are shared and operate with a minimum of four participants. Private tours can be arranged for an additional cost. We highly recommend making reservations at least one day prior to your desired tour.

An Outdoor Wonderland

From wildlife refuges to canyon and zip-line adventures, tours and excursions in Costa Rica offer something for everyone.

    Palo Verde National Park

    Scientists from all over the world come to Palo Verde National Park and Wildlife Refuge to study its rich ecosystem of rivers, marshland, mangroves and dry forest, where crocodiles, monkeys and iguanas make their homes. The leafless trees in this dry tropical forest make it easy to view up to 300 species of birds. Flat-bottomed boat tours are the perfect way to witness the park's wildlife. Go back in time visiting "La Casa del Sabanero" and taste traditional treats of Guanacaste.

    Discover Nicaragua

    Explore the colonial charm of Granada and experience Central American culture. You will visit the San Francisco Convent, which holds a large collection of stone sculptures dating back to pre-Hispanic times. After lunch at a local restaurant, you will be driven to the active Masaya volcano, where you can stand right at the edge of the immense crater. Before the drive back to Costa Rica, you will stop at the picturesque Indian Market at Masaya, where you can shop for unique arts and crafts, souvenirs and leather goods.

    Note: Driving time is approximately 2.5 hours to the Nicaraguan border. A minimum of four guests is needed for this Costa Rica excursion. Please check with the Concierge to determine visa requirements for entry into Nicaragua.

  • Rincón de la Vieja Volcano National Park

    This nature hike explores 3 kilometres (2 miles) of trails through the forest, passing bubbling mud, steaming sulphur and fumaroles.

  • Aerial Canyoning at Rio Perdido

    Enjoy a full day of relaxation in natural hot springs and crystal thermal river springs, after experiencing the thrill of zip line through an awe inspiring canyon.

  • canopy tour

    The Witch’s Rock canopy tour is an exhilarating experience. Guests harness up and slide along a series of zip lines suspended above valleys and amid treetops.

  • Canyon Tour at Guachipelin

    In the vast canyon at Guachipelin, guests have the opportunity to canopy and rappel, engage in wall climbing and swing like Tarzan through the jungle. A horseback ride to a lookout point provides amazing views of the Rincón de la Vieja volcano, as well as the chance to take a refreshing dip in the cool waters of La Chorrera waterfall.

  • Catamaran

    A catamaran cruise provides a relaxing way to explore the Gulf of Papagayo. On a luxury 14-metre (47-foot) catamaran – boarded right at the Resort’s beach – set out on a cruising adventure to see ocean wildlife and jungle shoreline. Snorkelling and sunset tours are available.
